Jennie Riley

Jennie Riley, 96, Rt. 2, Rochester, died at 5:27 p.m., Monday May 23, 1983 at Woodlawn Hospital. She had resided 10 years at the Rochester Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 14, 1887, in Rochester to Warren and Mary Ellen Kuhn Heeter. She lived all of her life in the Akron and Rochester communities. On Aug. 17, 1910, she married Ellis Riley. He died April 11, 1966. She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Nina Spurlock and Katherine Overmyer, both of Rochester, and Helen Bright, Fort Wayne; three sons, Monroe, Fort Wayne; Theodore, South Bend; and Raymond, Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-granchildren. A son, three sisters and three brothers preceded in death.
Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Akron, the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Athens cemetery.

ROCHESTER - Ellis E. Riley, 78, Route 2, Rochester, a retired farmer, died of complications Monday at the Woodlawn Hospital.
Mr. Riley was born in Kosciusko County on Dec. 22, 1887 to Theodore and Minnie (Hibschman) Riley. He was married on Aug. 17, 1910 to Jennie Heeter who survives. Mr. Riley was a member of the Athens Evangelical United Brethren Church and a former Sunday School superintendent there for 25 years.
Survivors include his widow, six children, Mrs. Ira (Nina) Spurlock, Mrs. Robert (Katherine) Overmeyer, both of Rochester, Monroe Riley, Mrs. Helen Bright, both of Fort Wayne, Theodore Riley, South Bend, and Raymond Riley of Akron; one brother William Riley, Route 1, Silver Lake; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, a sister and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Athens Evangelical United Brethren Church. Rev. Wayne Johnson and Rev. Don Bengston will officiate and interment will be in the Mount Hope cemetery at Athens.
Friends will be received at the Haupert Funeral Home in Akron until noon Wednesday, the at the church for one hour prior to the service.
