ATWOOD - Funeral services for Geraldine Z. Downey, 84, of Atwood will be at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 231 N. Illinois St., Atwood.
Dr. R. J. "Jay" Adrain will officiate.
Burial will be in Mackville Cemtery, Atwood.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Hilligoss-Shrader Funeral Home, 66E. US 36, Atwood, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Downey died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday (April 2, 2005) at Sullivan Health Care Centery,
Sullivan.
She was born June 1, 1920 in Danville, a daughter of Chester Elvin and Elberta Irene Birks
Zolman. She married John B. Downey on Spet. 16, 1945 in Atwood. He died Aug. 22, 1984.
Survivors include two brothers, C. Eugene Zolman of Warner-Robins, Ga., and Donald D.
Zolman or Ramer, Ala.; three half sisters, Pauline Dobrowolski of Whiting, Ind.
Shirley Stuart and Beverly Kain, both of California;
two grandchildren;
tro great-grandchildren;
and a great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Mrs. Downey was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atwood, American Legion Auxiliary,
Royal Neighbors of America and Arthur Rebeka Lodge 347.
